Mental health conversations often begin with a simple but powerful step, speaking without fear of judgement. Taking this message to the heart of Delhi, the Brainpulse Holistic Foundation organised a unique two-day mental health awareness campaign at Rajiv Chowk, Connaught Place.
Led by Dr. Vikram, the initiative created an open and approachable space where people could pause, reflect and talk about their emotions without having to reveal their identity. The campaign carried the simple yet meaningful message: “Aao… Anjaan bankar baat karte hai, dil ko thoda halka karte hai!” encouraging people to share what they may otherwise keep bottled up.
A striking feature of the campaign was a person dressed as a friendly yellow mascot, inviting passers-by to engage in conversations. The anonymous format helped remove the hesitation that often prevents people from speaking about stress, anxiety, loneliness and other emotional challenges.
Over the two days, hundreds of people participated and shared their thoughts and feelings. For many, the experience offered a sense of relief, demonstrating that sometimes, being heard without judgement can itself be an important first step towards emotional well-being.
The initiative also highlighted a larger reality of modern life: while people are constantly surrounded by others, many continue to struggle silently with their emotions. Creating safe, judgement-free spaces for conversation can help normalise discussions around mental health and encourage people to seek support when needed.
Through this innovative public outreach effort, the Brainpulse Holistic Foundation demonstrated that mental health awareness does not always need to begin in a clinical setting. Sometimes, it can begin right in the middle of a busy city, with a simple invitation to talk, listen and make the heart a little lighter.
